Customers are known to be the king of any business organization so as such there is need for a business oriented organization to treat their customers with much respect.
The managing director Trade Edge Mr. Tope Louis stated this while deliveries an open speech at the 3rd annual Business Optimization CSR Workshop, which was tagged ,SUBSISTENCE TO POSTERRITY “SUSTAINING THE MOMENTUM”. He also stressed that the company’s motive is to vividly render quality service to his/her customers.
“Over the years we had structured ways of sustenance and to remain relevant in area of sales and print equipment and print consumables, so this workshop is just the right platform to serve our customers more and to make them gain new ideas”.
He further stated that the deficiencies experienced In the Nigerian printing industries such as lack of government patronage for local printers, poor electricity supply, and lack of basic amenities among others, which is regarded as a major setback in the industry.
Delivering his keynote address one of the facilitators at the workshop, Sir Gbenga Badejo, who spoke on the “EFFECT OF THE NAIRA DEVALUATION ON SME’S ENTERPRISE IN NIGERIA”, said the government needs to invest more in SME’s because 60% of the country internal revenue is generated from the SME’s, he also advised the printers, saying there is a need for them to understand their business environment in order to make profit.
“I think the government needs to invest more in the SME’s and not neglecting them, they should boost the economy also for local manufactures to thrive, so that SME’s would be innovative and import dependable”.
Also speaking at the workshop Mr. Emmanuel Obu also spoke on “ASSESSING THE BUSINESS LEVELS, DEVELOPING SWOT SYSTEM”. He also went ahead to analyze the swot system has been,

After analyzing the swot system he said the essence of developing a swot is to improve business.
“Strength is when you have the right attitude in business, and applying knowledge. in marketing it is very important, because you have to understand your market very well and be able to set a standard well so as to maximize profit”.
Stressing the need to “Develop an Automated Business Operational System”, Mrs. Seyi Olulade said that, there is a need to be discipline when doing business because without that it is hard to maintain a good business system.
“it is very important to have a strong structure in place while doing business in other to stay on top and Small and Medium Scale Companies your soul mission should be on how to be business oriented and how to also enhance capacity in your business organization” she said.
Also on the workshop Mr. Bankole Williams spoke on “Emotional Intelligence, Key to Business sustenance” he said there is a need to manage feelings while in business, because it will determine how productive it will be.
According to him “there are five physical senses when constructing your goal namely sight, sound, touch, smell, taste. It is very important to put all these senses into work while in business; I believe the craze for wealth accumulation should not be the decider rather the desire to instigate the creative potential should be of great importance”, he said.
The day one of the workshop ended some of the printers had already started putting into practice what they were taught, in order to make their business more effective and lucrative
Also delivering his keynote address on the second day of the workshop, Samuel Avwerosuo Egube spoke on “THE EFFECT OF THE NAIRA DEVALUATION ON SME’S ENTERPRISE IN NIGERIA”. He said foreign exchange policies affect the industry more because they are always on the receiving end.
He went further to provide solution “SME’s should engage more in effective productivity and in local production, they should also know how to relate with their targeted audience, they should have a set standard in their business environment”.
Finally he said that success has the right to destroy any SME’s but if they are able to maximize their profit and do right evaluation for revenue and cost then they will always be on top of their business.
In business it is important to know a little about risk management, speaking at the workshop on “MANAGING RISK IN BUSINESS” Mrs. Olufunmi Adepoju said risk is the uncertainty of an outcome it could be either good or bad.
She further said that there is need for an organization to review its risks management policy in any business at all there is always expected loss and unexpected loss.
“Risk is constant but as business grows there will be new risk involved in it, so stakeholders in the printing industry has to review their risk management policy at all times”.
Addressing the stakeholders at the workshop Mr. Dipo Oladeji spoke on the “NEW FRONTIERS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT” customer service is any interaction which the customer has with the company while conducting business and that is about treating customers with respect, individuality and personal attention.
He also stated that customers should be treated politely no matter their attitude because most customers may be very demanding, and there should be some level of professionalism while dealing with such customers.
“the services of a good customer service representative should be employed, in order to treat customers well and also the company should create an enabling environment to always satisfy his/her customers, just like trade edge is doing, by organizing this workshop for all customers they are trying a develop a lasting relationship between themselves and their customers”. Finally speaking at the workshop on “BUILDING MULTIFACETED INCOME BUSINESS” Mr. Emmanuel Effiong Bright, said the need for new ideas is so important and that the ability of the mind is to be creative and resourceful, and as stakeholders in the print industry, there is a need to have a creative mind set and also the ability to form new images and sensations in the mind that are not perceived through senses such as sight hearing or other senses.
He went further by saying that having a creative mind is very important than knowledge and that imagination is considered the power of the mind.
“I think stakeholders in the printing industry should redefine their concept and they should start having a creative mind set because customers this days need creativity, printers should be able to create something out of their own environment, being just a printer is not enough but you should be a creative printer”.
Finally he stressed that printers should be able to tune their minds on listening to the problems of their customers and to provide a lasting solution so as to maintain that lasting relationship.
The two days’ workshop ended successfully as stakeholders were satisfied and also enlightened on how they could manage their manage risk, boost productivity, be a creative thinker and having an innovative mind, on how to relate with their customers, and how to create new ideas.
One of the participant who spoke to our newsman expressed satisfaction, saying that it is a good forum for printers to share ideas, to network and also to be educated more on their chosen profession.

Speaking to Printers Buyers Guide in an exclusive interview Mr. Tope also said he has really derived satisfaction with the response he got from the participant and that the workshop has really brought the best in them.
He also made it known that it is part of the company’s agenda to talk about health in the coming year, because without good health and sound mind one cannot perform effectively.
It important for printers in the printing industry to try and understand how their body works, that is why we at Trade Edge have decided that in the next edition we will bring health practitioners to talk about health and how human breakdown can be avoided during working hours as it is of great importance not neglecting the fact that health is wealth and one without a sound mind and good health cannot perform effectively in an organization”.
